South Georgia Institute Softball Program Overview
The South Georgia Institute (SGI) Softball Program is an integral part of our dynamic athletics department, offering female student-athletes a competitive platform to excel both on the field and in the classroom. Our mission is to develop strong, disciplined players through skill-building, team camaraderie, and Christ-centered leadership, while preparing them for success at the collegiate level and beyond.
Program Highlights
Team Name: SGI Huskies Softball
Season: Spring (with off-season training and development in Fall)
Eligibility: Open to female students enrolled at SGI; eligibility requirements may apply pending affiliation
Scholarships: Limited athletic scholarships available; academic aid options may apply

Year-round training focused on fundamentals, strength and conditioning, and game strategy

Coaching Staff
SGI Softball is led by a passionate and experienced coaching staff dedicated to player development, sportsmanship, and academic success. Our coaches work closely with athletes to support their physical growth, mental resilience, and leadership on and off the field.

Practice Field: On-campus softball field in Norman Park, GA

Recruitment and Tryouts
Prospective student-athletes interested in joining the Huskies Softball team are encouraged to:
Submit an athletic interest form via the SGI Athletics website
Attend official team tryouts (dates announced each semester)
Provide transcripts, athletic history, and a highlight video if available
Academic Expectations
SGI student-athletes are expected to maintain satisfactory academic progress and uphold the Student Code of Conduct. Athletes must balance the responsibilities of competition with academic achievement and community involvement.
